This Week's Top Five

5. Making it Home in ONE PIECE!
As everyone knows I have been traveling and enjoying my summer. I enjoyed my time at home, but I could not wait to get back here. You can only stay on vacation so long before you either want to stay permenantly or not. My mom sure would have loved me to stay forever along with a few other people. There were times I wanted to stay too, but I had to come back to reality. But the travel home was good. I got to see an old friend of mine in Omaha and almost got in an accident. This semi truck just decided to cut me off and even though I was on the phone with my dad, I was able to stop and get off the phone. I think he realized what he did because he got away from me real fast. But I made it here in one piece and without problems.!!!!

4. Going to VEGAS!
Not that Vegas is a good place, but I need one last retreat before starting back to school. Jeri and I went to a Girl's Night Out that Cheryl told us about. We went and there were loads and loads of people. We just hung there for a bit looked around, talked to Cheryl, had a drink, and headed to a place to eat. We ate and man they had the best deserts ever. Like I need that, but it is summer so I can splurge a bit. Then we went and hung out at the hotel. It was nice to do something fun with her and not have any kids or husbands around.

3. Going back to school!
I know I am nuts, but I have been wanting to go back to school to get things organized. I currently have 20 desks in my room, because I only had 18 kids last year. However, this year I will have 26 kids for my homeroom, so I am trying to find a design to include all desks and that has been interesting so far. Pluse I got to work on the new lesson plan template for those of us who have to teach the SEI classes.

2. Going to the Blessing
The teacher I worked with last year teaching second grade had her baby blessed today. I have never seen how the do things in the LDS churches, so I decided I would go and plus I have not seen her in forever. It was nice going to see her, the baby, and seeing how things happen in other faiths. After that my friend Sarah and I went to Olive Garden to eat where I saw an old friend of mine. He works there and when I was out to visit my grandparents in St. George when I was in middle school, I met him. I also wrote him when I left and I wanted to marry him. He is cute and so nice. He really loves my grandpa and misses my grandma about as much as I do. So it was all a good day today.

1. Reconnecting with an old friend
Getting to see my old friend in Omaha was a big highlight for me. I have not seen her in like 5 years and it was so nice to see her. Her name is Jennifer and she made me very jealous of her. She is so cute now and skinny. I miss her and I wish we could live in the same state at least. We were real close before and I am hoping it will happen again.

While there is my week. Other things have happened too that are really not to be included in my top 5. I broke up with Dan this week. It was a hard decision since he is a good guy, but I am just stuck right now. I have my personal issues to deal with about it and I hope that no one out there will get mad at me. (Carolyn, is the one I am worried about.) Well I hope all is going well for everyone and I am doing better slowly. Well see all my teacher friends soon!

Forgot this!

So while I was home I always have to stop in and get my hair cut. So I walk in and I am asked if I would like to be Uncle Sam on their float on the 4th of July. I was totally like "Sure, Why not?" Well the next day I stood on the float and we ended up winning first place for our float. I kind of liked doing it and on top of that no one knew it was me. So it helped because I was hiding from certain people. I guess everyone needs me to be around to help with different things. I have already been reserved for next year to be on the same float.

My Fave Five of Trip Home

Well for the past three weeks, since June 29th until July 22nd I have been in Iron River Michigan. Well minus about five days of traveling there and back, but I have been there enjoying my family and friends. I did a lot while I was there and when I got home I even thought of things I wanted to do and didn't get to or forgot. So here are a few things, but mostly my favorite ones.

5. Picking Strawberries with My mom and Kathi

So every year my father goes to boy scout camp for a week and this year while he was gone, we decided to go pick strawberries. My mom and I went with a good friend of ours named Kathi. We went for about two hours and we picked close to 40 pounds between the three of us. Mom and I did not know why we picked so much and my friend Kathi was going to make jam for friends of hers. So we decided to make angel food and have strawberries on it. It was real good. Then we made fruit pizza and I even brought some back here for Jeri and I. I am going to make some jam with mine, so if you want some, you might need to ask me.

4. Making pasties with my mom

I am sure some of you are wondering what is a Pasty? Well it is real simple. It is pie crust that you make by hand and then you add raw potatoes, onions, and hamburger meat. You also put salt and pepper to it too. It is kind of a Michigan thing. They are really good and easy to make. While we were making them I swear that my great grandma's spirit was with us. See my mom and I use to make them with her a long time ago. She is great woman and I sadly miss her. Anyways if you want to know more about pasties just type in pasties in google and you will find out more.

3. Spending time with my friends

Well I could not wait to get home and see my family and friends. It was great to see Allie and her sister Cami, along with Abbey and other girls that I use to work with. My friend Abbey came running out to the car as soon as I pulled up to Beef A Roo the first day I got home. To see Ron and Fay, people I use to work for, was great too. I did not get to spend a whole lot of time with them, but just the simple things were great. I have to say camping with Allie and Cami was great. We went out to one of the local lakes and had campfires and talked about everything. Those girls are great and help with everything that I need.

2. Spending time with LeRoy

I have to say I was with that boy everyday I was home. My aunt works the midnight shift. So when she gets home at 7 in the morning, he wants to get up and spend time with mommy. I would get a phone call,"Sarah!!! He won't go to sleep. Come and help me." So to the rescue I would come. One morning he was horrible, he kept screaming and I didn't know what to do. Well that day he popped out two teeth. He is chewing everything now and drooling all over me and everyone else. I also kept him over night one night too. He slept all night, but man I could not have a social life that night. It was great to spend time with him. We had loads of fun and it was great to feed him and watch him crawl. Here are some pictures of him. He is so cute!!!

1. Being home with my family! It was just great to see them all and get to be apart of their lives for a short time. It was worth it. Going to the bar with my aunt, visiting with friends, eating dinner with my grandma, and watching movies with my mom.

Well those are my faves of the trip. The next post will be a slide show of all my pictures. They are in no order but at least I tried to take as many as possible.

My Trip Home

I have to say the drive home was great. I enjoyed it and had wonderful company. We made it home in good time and I got to see parts of the country that I have not seen since I was like 11. I am glad I did it. But since I have been home, I have taken loads of pictures but I have no cord to upload them with. But I will do it soon as I get back. I am going to give you a play by play so far.

Sunday June 29th 2:00 We got in the car and headed for Denver, Colorado. By the time we decided to stop, which as 1:00 in the morning, we almost had no where to stay. Luckily there was one room left and we slept until 6:00 in the morning.

Monday June 30th 6:00 am We got back in the car and made it all the way through Nebraska and Iowa. We got to see some flooding in Iowa and cows and CORN FIELDS. It was a good trip through. Traffic was ligth, except for the dead deer in the road that Wendy so graciously swerved and missed. We eventually made it to Pewaukee, where Wendy's son lives at 11:00pm Wisconsin time. I stayed the night on the couch, but because I was anxious to get home, only 4 hours away, I left early before anyone was awake.

Tuesday July 1st 6:00 am Driving home by myself. I made a stop for my father as I got closer to home at a sports store since he is a Scout master and has boyscout camp this week, he needed some gear. Then at 11ish I stopped in at my favorite place to eat Beef A Roo. I was so happy to be there and see my friends. Then I got to see my baby cousin LeRoy. He is sooooooo cute. I can't wait to show pictures.

The rest has been visiting with friends and taking care of the baby. He is so good. Well I will have some pictures up soon.
