New Kids On The Block

I don't know how many of you were big fans of New Kids On The Block, but this summer they came out with a new song and I love it. They are also a group again and are on tour. It just so happens in October they are going to be in Las Vegas. I want to see them so, so, so bad. So I am going to try and save and go to it. I can't wait!!!!

Here is a picture of them!

Saturday Morning Breakfast

Since we all are teachers and decided we could not waste another weekend, Cindy and I decided we needed to do something fun. So we all got together and went to breakfast, which was so good and then went to see Mama Mia! after that. Both were a good idea. Plus we did some shopping. The whole gang did breakfast together and then the movie. In the pictures are, Erika, John, Cindy, Maria, Carolyn, Stephanie, and I.

They have always been there for me. For example, today I recieved 48 cupcakes with 5 minutes left to my class for the day. So I saved them for after school. A bunch of us teachers said and talked and ate some of the cupcakes. Now I have the rest for tonight with my grandpa and friends. I will post pictures of the cupcakes later. They are in the shape of an apple. I will have to post about that later so you know why. Let's just say it is part of my classroom theme. So pictures and more later.

One Week From Today

I know I said I was going to go back to the top 5, but I kind of like this one week from today. It gives me so goals for the week.

One Week From Today............

I will be sitting and enjoying my three day weekend.

My classroom will be already for school.

I will be reflecting on my past week and looking at what I need to change.

Hopefully I will be going on a quick vacation.

I will be a year older and hopefully maturer.

This past week has been really hard on me. I am starting to realize what certain teachers went through last year with this group of students. But as my principal said to me yesterday, "If anyone can do it, you can." He also told me, "If at the end of the year you can look them in the eye and tell them you have given them everything you could, then you have done your job and there is nothing else you can do." His words may have been a bit different, but that is what I remember. Let's just say I broke down at our professional development yesterday. I guess I just have trouble excepting the different things that I am not responsible for. It is hard but I guess I can do my best. My principal is a good guy and has been helping me. I know yesterday I kind of attacked him in away, and I am sorry for that Mr. Peterson, but he helped me make things clear in my head. I also have Carolyn who helped make it clearer in my head. If I did not have these people I think I would be lost. Thank you!

First Day of School Year 2

So yesterday was the first day of school. I didn't know what to write last night about it and I was totally busy too. I was kind of at a lost for how I felt the day went. I am teaching the new SEI class at school. The state passed this wonderful law and I got to be wonderful teacher who will teach it for second grade. So far so good, right? So my day started with the kids coming in and me throwing some routines at them and giving them a math test. They were totally quiet and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Then came lunch, which showed me they were warmed up to me and ready to go. They like to talk, but most can stop and know I mean business when I ask them to stop, except for one. She learned today though that I mean business.

All in all I have to say the day went well. I really like this bunch I have this year. They are quite a handful all 24 of them, but they each are different and love to share something with me. I did not have any scary experiences, just a crier, which Lisa got her to stop real fast. She cried today too, but stopped before the class started.

I am also finding that I have loads of time to do some fun stuff with them that is helping their English. Maybe this idea from the state is not a bad idea. We will see as the year progresses.

One Week From Today

There are so many things coming my way a week from today so I thought I would start my blog off with this for this week.

One Week from Today.....

I will have start teaching again!

I will be finally getting a good night's sleep!

I will be 10 days away from turning 24!! Not Good

I will be excited that my school year has started!

I will be coming home for a good Professional Development.

I will be feeling good about my school year and all of my wonderful students.

As you can see I am trying to be as opptimistic about this school year as can be. I think it is going to be a good one and lots of wonderful changes are going to happen. Finally we will all be on one page or so we have agreed on. This is going to be the year that no big drama happens and every one of my students will succeed in someway. I am looking forward to this year.

My Week

Well as some of you know school is about to start for me. So I have been super busy at school. I will give you a day by day play of my week.

Monday: Working at school on lesson plans for our SEI classes. There are five of us that will be teaching it this year. Since I kind of fixed the lesson plans and had an idea of what I was doing, everyone needed me on Monday.

Tuesday: Repeat of Monday, but arranging desks in my room and finding more desks for my 26 students.

Wednesday: Working in my room on organizing and doing some lesson plans.

Thursday: Talking with Lisa at school and trying to get some more chairs, supplies, and clean my room. Not to much progress made.

Friday: When everything changed. My grandpa has not been feeling the greatest lately, mostly he is just without energy. Well on Thursday night he was sweating for no reason, so he decided to go to InstaCare on Friday. Well I got a call from a friend saying my grandpa was trying to find me. For some reason the phone call would not go through when he called me. So I drove as fast as I could to St. George because they were doing some procedure on him and then something about keeping him over night. Well come to find out he had loads of blockeage and needed open heart surgery. So then there was me crying and freaking out. I am here all by myself and I could not find my father. He has 4 different numbers and no answer. Finally my mom found him and all.

So that brings us to today. My dad came out last night and my grandpa had the surgery today. He did really well and all is good. He is in ICU right now and tomorrow he should be out of there by the evening. I just thought I would let everyone know what is going on in my life.
